Bullet Journal

During times of upheaval, many people try extremely hard to regain control of their life in as many ways as possible.  COVID-19 has brought an end to many of the things that I love to do from dining out, going to festivals, and traveling to art, photography, and other creative endeavors.  We don't know how long this self-quaranting will last, but we do know that it is important to continue to maintain normalcy as much as possible.  With that being said, I have decided to return to those things which bring stasis to my extraordinary life.

For those that do not know, Bullet Journaling is a way to keep everything in your life as organized as possible.  It can be a beautifully creative to serenely minimalistic depending on the amount of time, effort, and imagination you wish to expend in building it.  It is September 1, 2020, and it is my wish to begin developing a system of Bullet Journaling for next year.  I hope that you will join me in this creative process as we learn and grow together.  Please follow this page as I journey through the world of BuJo.

Supplies
When searching for BuJo supplies, I scoured Pinterest looking for the best supplies from various Bullet Journal bloggers.  Most of the supplies, I already had purchased during my first attempt at journaling.  However, some seemed ingenius and I don't know why I did not think of them beforehand.  I guess the purpose of creative process is to always keep moving upward and onward in our practices.  I must admit that I have very expensive tastes when it comes to papyrophila, but one can get started in bullet journaling for less than $30 with a complete beginners set from Amazon.

This is quite an extensive list (around $125), but you should be able to find many supplies at your local Dollar Tree, Michael's Store, Walmart, or hobby shop.  Don't be short-sighted when it comes to BuJo supplies.  Get creative!  I love freebies, printables, thrift store finds, and upcycled supplies.  Remember that your Bullet Journal is a reflection of you, not the amount of money one spends on building it.

Page Ideas
Before I actually begin journaling, it is important for me to decide which pages I want to include in my BuJo.  Since this is not my first attempt, I had a few ideas of lists which I wanted to include.  However, I am nothing if not thorough, so I checked out a few Pinterest pages for content ideas.  I must remind myself that the bullet journal is adaptive and changing as much as I am, so I can include spreads and lists as they occur to me.  That is the great thing about having a journal entirely about yourself!  If you need help finding ideas, please check out the websites Mommy over Work or Life by Whitney for a plethora of topics from which to choose.  You may wish to include categories such as Family Life, Children, Work, Business, School, etc. which I have not included in mine since they do not apply to me.
